With masses of waving black hair and a body gloved in black and purple, Worm Queen strikes fear into the hearts of foes… and possibly of allies. Whether riding atop a giant worm while chasing evildoers or summoning vast swarms of specialized worms to do her bidding, she effortlessly commands any type of worm–tiny, huge, real, or fantastical.

INSIDER INFO: Anna Lyta was always a quiet girl–happiest when left alone to pursue her own eccentric interests. Born in an upscale suburb of Hialeah, Florida, the only child of a Cuban-American doctor and his socialite wife, Anna practically raised herself. From a young age, she showed an interest in insects and worms. While attending Champagnat Catholic School, her worm collection sparked a social ostracism that followed her through college (University of Florida’s Entomology & Nematology) and into graduate school at the University of Cobalt City.

She worked towards her PhD for years, including a summer internship on aquatic worms off the coast of Chile, only to reach impassable roadblocks just as she was about to defend her thesis. Feeling misunderstood and betrayed by her academic advisers, and an outcast among her peers, Anna’s powers manifested in uncontrollable ways. The Society of Evil Geniuses saw potential in the young student, and Nicodemus Candledark took an especial interest in her, initiating her into the mysteries of interpersonal relationships and helping forge her persona as Worm Queen. The exact nature of her powers remains unknown even to her. She does not know if the worms she summons are pulled from another dimension, a scientific breakthrough, or projections of her own psyche. She has intentionally avoided looking too deeply for answers.
